Epidsode Three of Llama Growler!
Episode 3 of the Llama Growler is ready. It deserves some explanation.
First, you will note that there is music strewn throughout the show. When recording, we weren’t sure exactly what songs we were going to use (probably planning ahead could remedy that). So they weren’t really introduced well - or at all. So, here’s what they are:
Song 1: “Get Me to Love You”
The band is Dialtone. This track is from their EP called Wait For. They are a cool 3 piece band out of L.A. Visit them on their MySpace page. Read Gray Hunter’s review of the CD.
Song 2: “Unbroken”
A fabulous band called Crushed. “Unbroken” is from their debut album My Machine. Crushed is a group from Phoenix, Arizona. Go to their website and learn more. Read Gray Hunter’s review.
Song 3: “For the Record”
A raw, metal band called Verismo. The record is called City of Kings. Here’s their website. And don’t forget to check out Gray Hunter’s review.
Song 4: “Hit the Lights”
It’s from Metallica. You should’ve known that. Kill ‘Em All. Metallifans go here.
Song 5: “Visions”
This instrumental is from Savatage, an awesome metal band. Here’s their website. These guys have had a long career and never fail to make some unique music.
Now, then, here’s a recap of the podcast champions. Links to the website for each brewery have been provided.
In each round, Gray Hunter and Flash Blazer used the Beer Tasting Kit. It contains small vials of popular hops. By taking a whiff of the vials and then the beer, you learn to identify the hops used. So that’s why there was such discussion about hops (and every so often the sound of sniffing). We were training our noses. The kit is very useful and will make appearances in later shows.
Please note that Gray Hunter was sabotaged during the Championship Round and part of the Special Bonus Round. Somehow his microphone got turned off. His muted ramblings have been cut out, so those rounds may sound a bit one sided.
